The C for PICmicro microcontrollers CD ROM is designed for students and professionals who need to learn how to program embedded microcontrollers in C.

C for PICmicro MCUs also provides all the tools needed actually program a PIC16F84 - including a full C compiler and device programmer (via printer port). Although the course focuses on the use of the PICmicro series of microcontrollers this CD ROM will provide a relevant background in C programming for any microcontroller.

The course itself is actually split into 2 main sections - the first concentrates the basics of C programming and makes use of a unique Virtual C PICmicro microcontroller which allows students execute code step-by-step and see how internal variables and I/O lines are affected. The second section develops students' skills further through 9 project tutorials, each of which has up to 15 subsections, which concentrate on PICmicro programming in C. Throughout the course students are presented with a wide range of examples and challenges.

The course includes a fully functional, high-specification C compiler and Integrated Development and Arizona Microchip's MPLAB suite of software. The CD ROM also works with our highly successful PICmicro development board.

All students will find the light-hearted style and approach that author Rob Miles uses engaging and rewarding.
