Motorists Buzz-Box project -- EPE Online December 2000

A multipurpose piece of test equipment for the intrepid car owner.

This easy-to-build Buzz-Box is a test instrument having six useful functions. It would be ideal for anyone involved with fitting car accessories and for checking bulbs, fuses, switches, ignition leads and “earth” points. Since the unit receives power from the car electrical system, it does not need any internal batteries and so will always be ready to use. One particular advantage of this circuit is that most of the tests are provided by audible signals. This means that the user can concentrate on the task in hand without having to look at a display!

More details on this construction project can be found in the December 2000 issue of EPE Online, the world's first web-delivered electronics and computing hobbyist magazine.
