Vibration-Triggered Alarm |
This circuit will sound a loud warning when a sensor is subjected to shock or vibration. One application would be to attach the sensor to a window. If an attempt were made to enter the house by breaking the glass, the alarm would be triggered.
Readers will no doubt find other possible uses, such as for protecting personal belongings, perhaps. Note, however, that simply moving the sensor will not operate it. The sensitivity of the circuit is adjustable and can be set to suit the application. To get an idea of the sensitivity, with the prototype sensor attached to a wooden table, putting a coffee cup down about 1m (3ft) away triggered it.
