PIC-based Remote Control IR Detector
Approx construction cost US$14

PIC-based Remote Control IR Detector project -- EPE Online September 2000 Allows PIC Programming Enthusiasts to remotely control their designs.

This design was created to enable PIC microcontroller circuits to be enhanced by the addition of a low cost infrared sensor and suitable decoding software. The operation of the PIC software can then be selected via a remote control handset. This control option may be preferable to interfacing external switches to the PIC.

The circuit and program could also be used just as a simple tester to show that a remote control is working.

More details on this construction project can be found in the September 2000 issue of EPE Online, the world's first web-delivered electronics and computing hobbyist magazine.
