Circuits for exploring the lower reaches of the
electromagnetic spectrum

Following on from the popular series on Practical Radio Circuits (June ’03 to Jan ’05), a number of readers have asked for a further article dealing specifically with reception on low (LF) and very low frequencies (VLF). This additional material has been prepared in response to their request and, as before, the emphasis is on practical circuits for experimenters.

The simple converter unit outlined here will allow a high performance receiver to tune into transmission from below 10kHz to 350kHz. Also, alternative aerial systems are described.
