The ingenuity of Raymond Haigh’s chart recorder is inspiring. Having once refurbished a chart recorder for recording auroras I know that hard copy recording of analogue events is hard work. What is needed is a cheap and easy method.

What a good idea! And described here is one way of doing it that can be used with almost any Epson-compatible dot-matrix printer.
