Magnetic Field Monitor project -- EPE Online June 2001

A sophisticated fluxgate sensor monitors static and alternating magnetic fields and outputs processed signals to a meter and headphones.

With the recent news of links between power cables and child-hood leukemia, it is worth knowing if there are any strong electromagnetic fields around your home. This highly sensitive detector is based on an inexpensive magnetometer sensor. It will readily detect and indicate the relative strength of electro-magnetic fields and will at least make you aware of any possible areas to avoid.

More details on this construction project can be found in the June 2001 issue of EPE Online, the world's first web-delivered electronics and computing hobbyist magazine.
