Regenerative Receiver
Approx construction cost US$56
Almost a hundred years ago, scientists and engineers in Europe and America were trying to develop more sensitive circuits for the reception of radio signals. The credit for discovering the benefits of applying positive feedback to a tuned circuit is generally attributed to that great American radio pioneer, E. H. Armstrong. Known as "regeneration", the technique produces a truly dramatic increase in receiver sensitivity and selectivity. This project provides continuous coverage from 130kHz to 30MHz, and is capable of receiving broadcast and amateur stations from around the world. In our opinion the author of this project has produced a really "professional" Regenerative Receiver … almost a piece of nostalgic art!
This project originally appeared in the March 2000 issue of EPEOnline. >> PURCHASE <<
